The barrel of oil traded low today in the New York and London international markets.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, which trades on the New York futures market (Nymex), lost 2.81% this morning and was trading at $74.14 a barrel in contracts for delivery in January.
Meanwhile, Brent North Sea oil, traded on the London Electronic Market (ICE), fell 2.97% and a barrel was agreed at $81.15 in contracts for January as well, according to Bloomberg News. .
For its part, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reported that its basket of crude oil closed Friday at $83.80 a barrel, up from $81.52 a day earlier, which represented a 2 ,80%.
