In the late mornings it does not find direction in most of the leading European stock exchanges, we can see shifts between -0.5 and 0.5 percent. For the time being, the BUX index is underperforming by 0.4 per cent, while the British FTSE 100 is down 0.3 per cent and the German DAX is 0.1 per cent lower, while the French CAC is stagnant.
At the sector level, shares of oil companies are performing particularly poorly, mainly due to the fall in oil prices – the WTI type has fallen by 3.6 per cent and the Brent quotation has fallen by 3.4 per cent so far today. The price of oil is mainly due to the strengthening US dollar and its concerns that restrictive measures aimed at stopping the spread of the new coronavirus in China could significantly dampen the global recovery in fuel demand.
