The barrel of crude oil traded today with increases in its values in the New York and London international markets.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, which trades on the New York futures market (Nymex), was up 2.05% this morning and was trading at $79.54 a barrel in contracts for January delivery.
Similarly, Brent North Sea oil, traded on the London Electronic Market (ICE), gained 1.56% and was also agreed a barrel at $86.67 in January contracts, the agency reported. Bloomberg.
Meanwhile, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reported that its basket of crude oil closed yesterday at $81.52 a barrel, compared to $85.19 last Wednesday, which represented a drop of 4 ,31%. (Telam)
