On Wednesday (April 13, 2022), the forces of the Würzburg fire brigade were challenged several times. At around 3:45 p.m., the integrated control center in Wrzburg was notified of an oil film on the Main. In addition to numerous fire brigades in the district of Wrzburg, the professional fire brigade in Wrzburg was also alerted to investigate. In the port area, the emergency services located a passenger ship from which the leak originated. To protect the environment, the emergency services used a boat to pull oil binding snails around the ship. Most of the leaked volume could thus be absorbed. It is now the task of the police to determine the cause.
During the operation, two fires were reported in residential buildings both in the old town and in Grombhl – fortunately, no fire could be detected in either operation. However, some of the premises were heavily smoked, so that, for example, at the site in Grombhl, the affected areas had to be cleared of smoke by the fire brigade with high-pressure fans.

At the same time, other fire brigade crews had to rush to Fuchsstadterstrasse after a traffic accident involving a motorcycle. The scene of the accident was secured and the emergency services supported in the measures. The injured person had to be flown to a nearby clinic in a rescue helicopter.
