OHL obtains a contract to make improvements to the New York subway

OHL has been awarded through its subsidiary Judlau Contracting a contract for the improvement of accessibility to the New York subway for 121.7 million euros (149.3 million dollars).

The OHL’s US subsidiary will install 17 new elevators in eight stations distributed in five districts of the city, the Spanish public works group said in a statement.

The winning entity, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of the United States city (MTA, for its acronym in English), additionally reserves a maintenance option in good condition for 3.21 million euros (3.9 million dollars), which increases the value total contract potential of around 125 million euros, he added.

Additionally, the MTA will award a long-term elevator maintenance contract to a supplier of Judlau’s equipment.
