Ohio State confirms who will be its starting quarterback in 2024

Will Howard will be Ohio State’s starting quarterback to open the 2024 season. The recent transfer of Kansas State won the battle in training and will start for the Buckeyes in Week 1 against Akronthe coach of the Ryan Day.
At the start of fall camp, Ohio State Buckeyes head coach, Ryan Day expected a starting quarterback to emerge in the first week of practice. That would be a change of sequence with respect to last year’s competition between Kyle McCord y Devin Brown.
Although McCord was named the starting quarterback for the season opener in IndianaDay stated that the competition was still ongoing. It was not until September 12, after two regular season games had already been played, that McCord was officially named the starter for the remainder of the season. Now the bidding for the 2024 season came to a conclusion before the first game after Day named Will Howard the starting quarterback on Thursday, August 15..

How Howard’s 2023 was and what he will bring to Ohio State
Last season, the Kansas State quarterback completed 219 of 357 pass attempts in his final season with the Wildcats. That resulted in 2643 yards and 24 touchdownswhile also throwing 10 interceptions. Howard was able to use his size and running ability to his advantage, rushing for 351 yards and nine touchdowns on 81 carries.
