O’Higgins will have a tough match, due to the level and play shown by his rival, next Saturday in the small north.
The light blue team, who were not able to win at home against Huachipato, will visit Coquimbo Unidos at the Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso stadium and there they hope to emerge victorious to remain in the advanced group of the National Tournament.
With the confirmed loss of Juan Ignacio Díaz, who will miss a few dates due to a tear, Capo will show a new defensive duo, since the Argentine had been playing a good role alongside Leonel Mosevich. Regarding the replacement, Juan Manuel Azconzábal did not shed light on the replacement, as he said that “we are evaluating who will occupy that position and we have variants on the roster.” Brian Torrealba, on several occasions – other seasons – had to play as a center back on the left, and he may be the one who appears in that position.
A GOOD RIVAL
“Coquimbo is a team that has maintained the base, has changed the center forward, but well, there are quite a few similarities to what Holgado presented last year,” commented the coach when consulted by the Pirates.
What’s more, he added that the team led by Nano Díaz, “is a tough, orderly team, does not allow spaces, and it is a nice task that we must face to obtain the three points. It is a difficult field, but it is not impossible.”
Furthermore, he stressed that “we have to play a game, where perhaps the spaces, being a visitor, will not be found so easily. The opponent has players who have good ball handling, who are going to try to be superior to us in the midfield.”
Finally, the coach added that “we have to play better, I know we can do it” and that in Coquimbo, “we hope to prevail, take advantage of our game and our individualities.”
Rabello, forward?
The midfielder, one of O’Higgins’ best players this season, was pigeonholed as a forward by Azconzábal. The above, given the criticism that the sky blue attackers have not scored since March 2.
“I consider Rabello a forward, so I cannot agree with you,” said the coach when asked by a radio reporter.
What’s more, he added that “I see him more comfortable close to the area than in the creation. In fact, beyond the goals, he has had situations.”
Rabello, today, is the top scorer for the light blue squad with 3 goals. The other goals this season were scored by: Simón Contreras (1), Octavio Bianchi (1), Arnaldo Castillo (1), Esteban Calderón (1), Diego Buonanotte (1), Yerko Leiva (1).
