O’Hearn, Urias homer to lead Orioles to 3-2 win over Dodgers | Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ramon Urias hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, Ryan O’Hearn also connected and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 Tuesday night in the opener of an interleague series.

The NL West-leading Dodgers left potential tying and go-ahead runs on the paths in the ninth inning. Chris Taylor lined a harmless line drive to end the game.

In the eighth inning, Mookie Betts singled and stole second, but Teoscar Hernandez struck out swinging against Yennier Cano. Will Smith saw the third strike go by to end the inning.

The Angels had just three hits over the final six innings. None of their runners advanced past second base after the third inning.

Urías’ second homer in two games put the ball into the left-field bullpen, scoring Jackson Holliday and restoring the Dodgers’ lead, condemning Jack Flaherty (10-6) to the loss.

The win went to Matt Bowman (1-0).

For the Orioles, Venezuelan Anthony Santander was 0-for-3. Dominican Eloy Jiménez was 1-for-4. Mexican Urías was 1-for-3 with one run scored and two RBIs.

For the Dodgers, Dominican Hernandez went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Venezuelan Miguel Rojas went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Puerto Rican Kiké Hernandez went 1-for-3.
