User Twitter now can get blue check mark more easily by signing up Twitter Blue and pay $ 7.99 per month. But this feature is immediately abused by rogue users.
Not long after the new version of Twitter Blue was launched, many fake accounts had blue check marks on their profiles. Even if these fake accounts carry names of famous brands, athletes or politicians.
Fake accounts with blue ticks are seen mimicking Nintendo, Steam, basketball player LeBron James, former US President Donald Trump, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, to Jesus Christ.
Worse still, these fake blue-ticked accounts not only deceive Twitter users, they also spread fake news. For example, an account impersonating LeBron James said he asked to move from the LA Lakers to another team, as quoted by Mashable, Thursday (10/11/2022).

Before Twitter Blue launched with a paid verification system, account Twitter who can get the blue check mark must meet a number of criteria, including that the account must be active, important, and authentic. The account holder must also provide proof of identity for the account verification process.
Now anyone can get a blue tick without the identity verification process. Twitter states that all Blue Twitter subscribers will automatically receive a blue check mark.
Twitter actually provides a marker to differentiate between an official blue tick account and an account that pays to get a blue tick. Just click the account profile and then click the blue check icon on the profile to view the information as below.
Twitter cracked down on some of these fake accounts. Fake Nintendo Accounts, Fake Trump, Fake Valve, and Fake LeBron have been suspended and some are still free roaming.
Twitter had previously labeled the official account marked with a blue check “Official”, but the label has been withdrawn by new Twitter owner Elon Musk. Social media with the bird logo claimed they would aggressively pursue impersonating and scammer accounts.
