Oğuzhan İnan, who went to the Suyunbaşı Recreation Area of Fevzi Çakmak District, entered the pond to cool off with his 3 friends at around 15.00. According to the claim, Oğuzhan Inan, who entered the pond used for irrigation, was held on the rope tied to the shore because he did not know how to swim. İnan, who panicked after the rope broke, began to flutter. His friends, who started to sink to the bottom of the pond about 5 meters, helped İnan, and could not save İnan. Oguzhan Inan, 14, drowned.
Izmir Provincial Police Department underwater search team, Çaybaşı firefighter underwater search team and Torbalı firefighters reached the lifeless body after a 2-hour search. The mother, who came to the scene later, had a nervous breakdown. While the mother was taken to Torbalı State Hospital, the child’s lifeless body was removed to the morgue of the same hospital.
The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the incident.
