Ogre Theater to visit Ikšķile with open-air performance “Skroderdienas Silmači”

As the restrictions of the pandemic diminish, Ogre Theater invites spectators to the open-air performances of “Skroderdienas Silmači” in three Latvian cities – Ikšķile, Balvi and Mengele.

The stage version of “Tailors in Silmači” created by director Jānis Kaijak premiered in 2010 and has become one of the most sought-after productions of Blaumanis’ play, which is performed on various Latvian open-air stages every year during Midsummer – in Liepāja, Cesvaine, Rēzekne, Ventspils and Līvāni. .

This year, a new line-up will debut in the production of “Skroderdienas Silmači” – actor Ernests Greizis will play the role of Alekša for the first time, Signe Stabinge will appear in the role of Elīna, Herberts Legants in the role of Rūda, Sarmīte Krauze in the role of Bebene. In other roles: Antonija – Astra Kolberga, Dūdars – Guntars Arājs, Ieviņa – Katrīna Anna Ozoliņa, Kārlēns – Mārcis Broks, etc. The creative team of the show includes costume designer Ilze Kupča-Ziemele and set designer Māris Ruskulis.

The performances of “Skroderdienas Silmači” will be shown on June 22 at 20.00 at Ikšķile stage, June 23 at 19.00 at the Prize City Stage and on June 27 at 17.00 Angel on the stage. Admission to all performances – free of charge.

It is possible to attend the performance at Ikšķile stage by presenting an identity document and a digital Covid-19 certificate, which confirms that the spectator has been vaccinated against Covid-19 or has contracted Covid-19 during the last six months.
