And if you look at the totals, it is quite dark: 26.1 percent fewer cars were registered in April than the same month last year.

– The situation with production challenges and delivery of new cars to waiting customers is still noticeable. At the same time, we know that there are very many cars in order reserves. As soon as a new boat load of cars arrives, the delivery rate increases and the arrows go up. There is still reason to believe that 2022 will also be a year of high new car sales, he says.
Electric cars now totally dominate
But the interesting thing is that almost the entire loss is cars that are not electric cars: Practically as many electric cars were registered in April this year as in April last year.
In fact, April was the second best electric car month of the year, only beaten by March, which was an extreme month strongly marked by Tesla sending a larger load of electric cars from its factory in China.

New electric car on top
If you look at electric cars in isolation, almost as many were handed out as in April 2021.
The big winner in April was Volvo, which with the XC40 this time outperformed VW ID.4, which looks to be the new people’s favorite.
Nearly 600 new XC40s got divorced last month.
The XC40 has also recently come in a more sporty variant that has been named the C40., Which is by far the same car with a coupe shape. The C40 ended up in 16th place among most popular electric cars.
