Offside video referee technique will be faster and more accurate in Qatar World Cup | sports

Pierre Luigi Collina, head of the FIFA Refereeing Committee, revealed today, Friday, that the decisions of the video assistant refereeing system in the World Cup will be faster and more accurate, following the application of modern technology developed by FIFA over the last 3 years .

And the “semi-automatic infiltration technology” will intervene to solve the most complex infiltration cases faster than the previous system, and the audience in the stadium and on television will see a three-dimensional model of the situation.

“This technology gives us the ability to act faster and more accurately in the event of an infiltration,” Collina told reporters in a statement ahead of the start of the tournament in Qatar.

And he continued: “To be clear, being faster does not mean immediate evaluation, the period will certainly be shorter than now, but we cannot answer in a second, and I want to emphasize that the final decision always rests with the match referee , as far as the video touch judge system is concerned, it is up to the referee”. Video, inside the stadium, decisions rest with the main referee.

Twelve cameras in each stadium will monitor 29 points on each player’s body and a sensor will send the data to the video referee’s operations room 500 times per second to achieve maximum accuracy in evaluating ball passing.
