Officially.. Steel mills raise prices, and a tonne registers 30 thousand pounds for the consumer

Egyptian Steel announced that it has raised its rebar prices today, Wednesday 11 January 2023, bringing the factory delivery price to £25,850 per tonne, inclusive of the prescribed 14% value added tax.

The price of Suez Steel Company’s iron rose by around £2,500 after the company announced its prices today to £25,850, including 14% VAT.

Garhi iron has surged on the side of the business, bringing the price of a tonne today from the factory to £27,000, and a commercial tonne is selling for £27,500, while its consumer price reaches £27,945.

The steel companies raised their prices about two weeks ago by around £1,500, a new increase on average per tonne.

While the Beshay Company raised its iron price by around £3,000 this week, taking £27,360 per tonne from the company’s land, provided it reaches the consumer at £28,000.

Iron prices today for the consumer

Iron prices for consumers vary between £30,000 and £32,000 per tonne, as agents do not stick to factory prices, especially with supply tight.
