The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Egypt sent a letter to the Zamalek Club stating that Mortada Mansour was removed from the presidency of the club, after upholding his imprisonment sentence.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports called on Zamalek Club to hold an emergency meeting in order to determine the acting chairman of the club’s board of directors in order to run things until the nearest new general assembly to elect a new president.
Mortada Mansour had been sentenced to one month in prison for insulting and slandering Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of the Egyptian Al-Ahly club, after the Court of Cassation refused to appeal this ruling, according to Egyptian media.
