VIVA – Official Todd Boehly become the new owner Chelsea after Roman Abramovich decided to sell it, Saturday 7 May 2022. The billionaire from the United States bought Chelsea for around 2.5 billion pounds or around 45 trillion.
Todd Boehly is the owner of basketball clubs in America, namely the LA Dodgers and LA Lakers. He also got rid of his rivals who wanted to own Chelsea, namely Sir Martin Broughton and Stephen Pagliuca. After officially becoming the owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly only needs to ask permission from the British government and the manager Premier League.
As reported by the Irish Mirror, one of the richest people in England, Sir Jim Ratcliffe had wanted to own Chelsea and had made an offer of 4.25 billion euros on Friday “We made an offer this morning” said Jim Ratcliffe
Jim Ratcliffe further added “We are the only offer from the British. Our motive is just to try and make a really good club in London. We have no profit motive because we make money in other ways”
