Official: Xbox Live Gold will go up in price

During the early hours of this day, there were rumors that Xbox would raise the price of the Xbox Live Gold service, a service that allows the community to enjoy online games. This morning Microsoft confirmed this rumor as well as the new titles that will arrive at Games with Gold during the month of February.

Through Xbox Wire, Microsoft explained that Xbox Live Gold has been active for 18 years and that in some regions or markets, the price of the service has not changed in 10 years. So for some regions (not yet specified in which ones) the price of the Xbox service will increase for new users. If you have an active 6 or 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription, when you want to renew it, you will not have a price change, so it will be renewed at the same price.

“The price of a 1-month Gold membership is increasing by $ 1 USD and the price of a 3-month membership is increasing by $ 5 USD or the equivalent in your local market.”
