Vivi, a competitor of VS Dunakeszi, made it to the top 8 at the ORLEN Polish Open World Cup in Tarnów, Poland, with a great game, and with this result earned the right to participate in the 2023 European Games, which will be held in Poland starting in June.
The European Games will be held in Krakow, Poland, from June 21 to July 2, 2023. The badminton tournament will be hosted by Tarnow, located about 80 km east of Krakow, between June 26 and July 2.
Vivi had two great Hungarian opponents, Gonda Daniella, who did not start in this competition, so she had to overtake Ági Kőrösi in terms of points. It was already known before the race that if Vivi finished one lap ahead, she would overtake Ági, if they finished in the same place, Ági would come out on top. Both of them won their first round match, and then Ági lost to reach the 8th round. Vivi entered the field thinking that if she won, she was out. In a 3-set match that was intense to the extreme, in a match that lasted almost an hour, he brought the third set back from the grave and turned it around and made it to the round of 8, thus earning the qualification. She was stopped by the Singaporean girl ranked first among the 8, who later also won the competition.
Due to the Olympic quota acquisition, this is a very important milestone, as the competition will already be held during the Olympic qualification period, which also serves as a qualification event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Congratulations to Vivi and her coach Henrik Tóth!
