Official! Steven Gerrard Becomes New Aston Villa Manager

Aston Villa officially appoint Steven Gerrard become the new manager to replace Dean Smith. The Liverpool legend was brought in from a Scottish club, Rangers.

The news was conveyed by Villa, Thursday (11/11/2021) afternoon WIB. Gerrard has reportedly signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Villa Park.

“Aston Villa Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Steven Gerrard as our new head coach. Gerrard led Glasgow Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title last season, completing an unbeaten campaign in the league,” read a Villa statement.

Moving Steven Gerrard ke Aston Villa at the same time ending his managerial career at Rangers since 2019. The 41-year-old coach admitted that he couldn’t wait to feel the battle again at the club Premier League.

“Aston Villa is a club with a rich history and tradition in English football and I am very proud to be the new head coach,” said Gerrard.

“In my conversations with Nassef, Wes and the rest of the Board, it was apparent how ambitious their plans for the club are and I look forward to helping them achieve their goals.”

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone associated with Glasgow Rangers for giving me the opportunity to manage such an iconic football club. Helping them secure a record-breaking 55th league title will always have a special place in my heart. I wish all the best for the players, staff and supporters in the future.”

Steven Gerrard have a big job boosting performance Aston Villa. The Villans currently stranded in 16th position in the Premier League standings with 10 points from 11 matches.
