Official photos and specifications of Mi Band 5 hit the net

Xiaomi brand fans of gadgets will soon enjoy a pleasant event – the announcement of the Mi Band 5 bracelet. The event will be held in the middle of this month. This became known from the official public Xiaomi in the Chinese social network Weibo. The post contains several photos, as well as details of the characteristics, which we will discuss later.

Comparing the new product with last year’s fitness tracker Mi Band 4, there are no obvious differences, but this is only in the photo. In reality, Mi Band 5 has a larger screen – 1.2 inches versus 0.95 inches. True, the display matrix is now not AMOLED, but OLED. As you know, OLED displays have a slightly higher power consumption due to high brightness, but by increasing the battery capacity to 150 mAh, Xiaomi more than compensate for this feature. Moreover, brightness is also an important aspect in fitness trackers. By the way, from the pictures we can assume that the Mi Band 5 will become a little thinner than its predecessor.

For those involved in sports, Xiaomi Mi Band 5 has built-in auxiliary functions for more than 15 types, including cycling, swimming and even yoga. The fitness tracker is endowed with the most basic functions in terms of recording health indicators. With it, you can control the level of oxygen in the blood, read the pulse, and more. Pairing is possible with both Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth 5.1. It’s also a lot of fun that NFC will appear in Mi Band 5, which fully supports contactless payments in almost all countries, and not just in China.

The exact date of the presentation of Mi Band 5 is not yet called. China was chosen as the first region to start sales. It will be followed by deliveries around the world. The preliminary cost for the inhabitants of the Middle Kingdom will be 169 yuan (about 750 hryvnia).
