Official! Pertamax Prices Increase Starting April 1, 2022 in 16 Provinces, Check Prices

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially raised the price of Pertamax fuel oil (BBM) starting on Friday, April 1, 2022. This Pertamax price increase applies to 16 provinces.

Launching an announcement on Pertamina’s official website, Thursday (31/3), this Pertamax price increase was in order to implement the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) of ESDM No. 62 K/12/MEM/2020 concerning Basic Price Formula in Calculation of Retail Sales Prices for General Fuel Oil Types of Gasoline and Diesel Oil Channeled Through Public Fuel Filling Stations.

The increase in the price of pertamax in each province is also different. However, this increase is in the range of Rp. 3,500 per liter to Rp. 3,550 per liter.

As reported by Kompas.com, as in the Bali area, Pertamax is priced at Rp. 12,500, up from the previous Rp. 9,000 per liter, as well as in Maluku it rose to Rp. 12,750 per liter from the previous Rp. 9,200 per liter.

Quoting the news Kontan.co.id Previously, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir apologized if later there would be a price adjustment for RON 92 BBM aka Pertamax.

Erick revealed that the government had taken a policy to designate RON 90 BBM alias Pertalite as a Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP). Thus, Pertalite is confirmed to be the type of fuel that is subsidized by the government.

“The government has decided that Pertalite is a subsidy, Pertamax is not. So if Pertamax goes up, I’m sorry,” Erick said when giving a speech at the Hasanuddin University Public Lecture, Wednesday (30/3).

Previously, the Special Staff of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga said it was time for Pertamina to adjust the selling price of Pertamax following the price disparity that occurred.

According to him, referring to the information from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the economic price of Pertamax has now reached Rp. 16,000 per liter, or far exceeds Pertamina’s selling price of Rp. 9,000 per liter.

“It’s time for Pertamina to return the price, yes, not far from the economic price. Although not at the economic prices, but it should not be too far either (below),” said Arya in his statement to the media, quoted Wednesday (30 /3).

Arya explained, Pertamax consumption reached 13% of the national fuel consumption. In addition, Pertamax is also actually consumed by the upper class community.

With the Pertamax price adjustment not being carried out to date, Pertamina is the same as providing subsidies to the Pertamax user community, including for luxury cars.
