Official: No PCR test for vaccinated travelers to enter Spain from June 7 (UPDATE)

MADRID – Finally it can be read officially, on the website SpTH.gob.es where the Spanish health form with QR code must also be completed. From Monday 7 June, vaccinated travelers from all countries including the Netherlands and Belgium no longer need to have a PCR or TMA test to enter Spain if they have been vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival.

IMPORTANT: Read here all the information as stated in the official Spanish Gazette published on Saturday 5 June. ARTICLE: Important changes to corona requirements to enter Spain from June 7.

From Monday 7 June 2021 All travelers arriving by plane to Spain from a country/territory that has a SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus risk must have the following:

A show certificate or document confirming vaccination against Cocid-19 (at least 14 days before arrival in Spain) or a negative certificate of a diagnostic test for active infection (PCR or TMA test or antigen rapid test) or a certificate of recovery after having had Covid-19.

This evidence can be demonstrated through the new EU Digital Covid Certificate in the case of an EU country or an official supporting document that shows that one has been vaccinated against the coronavirus, has tested negative or has already had an infection and is therefore protected against the corona virus, regardless of whether the traveler comes from an EU country or from a third country (from outside the EU) .

Not vaccinated minors belonging to the same family of vaccinated parents must have a negative PCR test handing over which may not be older than 48 hours. Children under 6 years old are not required to submit these certificates or supporting documents.

health form

There is also finally an answer to the question of whether vaccinated people still have the health form via the SpTH website or smartphone app. That is and remains mandatory for everyone, so also for vaccinated persons and regardless of nationality and age.

In theory, every traveler who goes to Spain by plane before entering an aircraft and then after arriving at the airport in Spain must show a digital QR code that can be created via the website SpTH-gob.es. You can show this on paper (printed) or on a screen of a smartphone or tablet.

Which vaccination certificate?

And many readers will now have the question, which vaccination certificate do I have to show in order to enter Spain. What we know at the moment we have in THIS ARTICLE already described. We don’t know any more at the moment.

Traveling from Spain to the Netherlands

Vaccinated Dutch people can travel to Spain by plane without a PCR test, but with a completed health certificate (no need for their own transport), which is excellent news, but … The Netherlands has adjusted the requirements for the return journey since 1 June.

Travelers arriving from a ORANGE area (that is all of Spain except the Balearics and Canary Islands because they are YELLOW) travel to the Netherlands now only has to one corona test to show, the PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in the Netherlands. As a result, the rapid test requirement has been abolished.

OWN TRANSPORT TRAVELERS PLEASE NOTE: New for the Netherlands (since 1 June) is that the PCR test obligation no longer only applies to air passengers and travelers of ships and ferries, but also to the own transport travelers (car, camper, motorcycle, etc.). So anyone aged 13 and over who travels to the Netherlands from Spain, regardless of the mode of transport, must have a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in the Netherlands. This also applies to vaccinated persons traveling to the Netherlands from Spain, among others. PLEASE NOTE: From June 9th, a negative PCR test that is no longer MANDATORY up to 72 hours before arrival in France (including by road).
