OFFICIAL: Koundé reinforces Barcelona and gets a billion-dollar clause

Barcelona and Seville made it official this Friday the transfer of Jules Koundé to the Catalan club.

After agreement principle announced on Thursdaythe two clubs confirmed that the operation is fully finalized, as the central defender has already undergone the usual medical examinations and signed a contract until 2027. The release clause was set at €1 billion.

Koundé will be presented next Monday.

According to the Spanish press, the 23-year-old player cost 50 million euros to Barcelona’s coffers, to which they add between five and ten million in variables.

Formed in Bordeaux, the French international spent the last three seasons at Sevilla.
