Paratici once made a blunder when an overweight Juve squad resulted in Mario Mandzukic & Emre Can being dropped from the Champions League squad in 2019.
Juventus Sports Director, Fabio Paratici, is certain to leave the Bianconeri. The club does not renew its contract which ends on June 30, 2021.
Paratici joined Juve from Sampdoria in 2010. He started his career in Turin as technical coordinator before being appointed sporting director in the 2011/12 season. As of 2018, he served as the chief football officer.
Paratici filled the position of Giuseppe Marotta who is now serving at Inter Milan after being kicked out by Juventus in 2018.
“Fabio [Paratici] has marked history at Juventus over the last few years. 19 trophies in 11 years are the best proof of his contribution, which is fully part of our club’s long tradition, “said Juventus chairman, Andrea Agnelli, as quoted from the official Juventus website, Wednesday (26/5).
Paratici is considered to be behind the decline in Juve’s performance since the era of Maurizio Sarri. He and the club’s vice president, Pavel Nedved, are said to have played a part in convincing Agnelli to fire Massimiliano Allegri.
Paratici failed to bring in the number of players that Sarri wanted. One of the three, namely Jorginho, Romelu Lukaku, and Mauro Icardi. In the era of Andrea Pirlo, Luis Suarez was not recruited.
This season, Juve’s dominance in Serie A was interrupted. With Paratici’s release, Pirlo’s fate was questioned amid news that Agnelli was said to have contacted Allegri’s agent.
