Chivas officially announced that Fernando Gago was no longer the team’s coach as of this Thursday. Versions indicate that the strategist will return to Argentina to coach Boca Juniors.
“The Guadalajara sports club informs that as of today Fernando Gago has been separated from his duties as technical director of Chivas. In the last few hours, Gago informed the board of his decision to return to Argentina along with his coaching staff,” he said. the team in a statement.
Gago was in charge of Guadalajara for just over 10 months and now he left the team when matchday 12 of the Apertura 2024 tournament is approaching. Although in the previous season he reached the semifinals, now the progress of the rojiblanco club had been irregular and is in ninth place with 15 units.

Among the options to lead Chivas is Benjamín Mora, strategist for York United in Canada, as well as Gérard Espinoza, helmsman for Aucas in Ecuador and who was in charge of Tapatío, Guadalajara’s affiliate in the Expansion League.
