Official: European Super League announces the creation of a competition

Shock report late on Sunday evening: The European Super League announced in an official statement that twelve clubs will take part in the newly founded competition.

The founding members include AC Milan, Juventus Turin and Inter Milan from Italy, Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool from England as well as Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona from Spain. In addition, three more clubs are to be added by the time the game begins.

Real boss Florentino Perez is the first president of the Super League, with Juventus boss Andrea Agnelli as vice-president. Manchester United’s Joel Glazer will also serve as vice president. The league wants to start the competition “as soon as possible,” said the press release.
