KOMPAS.com – After making an offer some time ago, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk officially buy Twitter at a price of 44 billion US dollars or around Rp. 634 trillion, Tuesday (26/4/2022).
After Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, Twitter will become a private company, no longer a public company listed on the US stock exchange. Shareholders will receive $54.20 in cash for each Twitter share they own.
The figure matches Musk’s offer and represents 38 percent of the premium to Twitter’s closing stock price on April 1, the last trading day before Musk disclosed his stake on Twitter earlier this month.

“Twitter Board undertook a thoughtful and comprehensive process to assess Elon’s submissions focused on value, certainty and financing,” said Twitter Board, Bret Taylor, summarized from NBC News.
“The proposed transaction will provide a substantial cash premium and we believe this is the best way forward for Twitter shareholders.”
Meanwhile, Musk said that Twitter has tremendous potential. He hopes to work with his new company and Twitter users.
“Freedom of speech is the foundation of the functioning of democracy, Twitter is a digital city center, where things that are important to the future of humanity are debated here,” said Musk, who is fairly active on the microblogging platform.

This agreement is awaiting approval from shareholders and regulators and is targeted for completion by the end of this year.

Desire Elon Musk buys Twitter This was announced after he bought Twitter shares amounting to 2.89 billion US dollars (approximately Rp. 41 trillion) in early April 2022.
His intention to buy Twitter was proven by submitting an offer through the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Musk submitted an offer price per share of 54.20 US dollars (approximately Rp. 750,000).

According to reports CNBCIn total, Musk’s bid for a 100 percent stake in Twitter is worth about $43 billion, nearly matching the price of the officially announced deal.
Launch CNN, this submission is likely to be a turning point for the Twitter Board to approve Musk’s intention to buy the company. Twitter officials reportedly met with Musk last Sunday (24/4/2022) to discuss the acquisition.
Previously, some of Twitter’s majority shareholders, including the Prince of Saudi Arabia, Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, were said to have opposed Musk’s plan to buy Twitter. However, in the end Elon Musk officially bought Twitter.
Elon Musk’s announcement to buy Twitter made Twitter’s shares rise 6 percent to around 51.84 US dollars (around Rp. 747,900).
