The Coronavirus Recovery Index in Egypt decreased to 92.8% as of Sunday, according to official data recorded by the Ministry of Health and Population for “Covid-19” cases, after it reached its highest level at 93.8% early this month.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health recorded 167 new cases of corona, 11 deaths, and 100 recoveries; The total number that was registered in Egypt brings 106,397 cases, including 98,813 cases that have been cured, and 6187 deaths.
Concurrently, the death index rose to 5.8%, given the decrease in recorded infections with the virus, and the number of deaths fluctuated between 10 to 20 cases per day on average, and with a lower margin from the beginning of this month, which reached 5.7% at the time.
The death rate in Egypt is still higher than the average global death rate recorded by the World Health Organization, which is 5.3%, according to Dr. Amjad El-Khouly, WHO’s epidemiology consultant.
The Ministry of Health had stressed the need to adhere to preventive and precautionary measures and follow social distancing measures in anticipation of the increase in the number of new Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections, with the onset of winter and low temperatures.
The Ministry also stressed the readiness of isolation hospitals to receive cases of infection with the Coronavirus, in addition to diagnosing and triage in all Ministry of Health hospitals, dispensing treatment for home isolation cases, following up the workflow through surveillance teams and investigating cases of infection and applying preventive measures in places of gatherings and various activities.
