Official: Club América reports 2 infections of Coronavirus; one is a footballer

What yesterday seemed just a rumor was confirmed this Friday at noon; the Club America Eagles X have positive cases of Coronavirus in their first team, as reported by the club itself through a statement.

The Azulcrema team was one of the few clubs that remained “clean” in infections within their ranks and has now joined teams that have recently reported more cases like Santos, Chivas, FC Juárez and Mazatlán FC.

The LIGA MX and Club América report that, prior to the start of the Guard1anes 2020 tournament, on July 21, 70 tests were carried out on players, coaching staff, administrative staff and staff, of which two were positive, dealing with:

Emilio Lara Contreras, player of the first team.

Giber Aníbal Becerra Montijo, member of the coaching staff.

So far they are asymptomatic and are isolated under the medical supervision of Club América and the pulmonologist who assessed them. There are 11 tests to be delivered tomorrow, a delay attributable to the excessive workload in the laboratory.

Club América will maintain the strict application of the health protocols of the LIGA MX, as well as the permanent monitoring of the health status of its members.
