Official: Bråtveit leaves Djurgården – ready for Vålerenga

It was before the 2019 season that Per Kristian Bråtveit was recruited to Djurgårdens IF from Haugesund. The goalkeeper managed to play 28 Allsvenskan matches and win a Swedish Championship gold before he was loaned to FC Groningen in January 2021.

Last year, the 26-year-old was loaned to French Nimes Olympique, but at the end of June the loan agreement expired. It is now clear that Bråtveit will leave Djurgården once again – this time permanently.

On Wednesday, it became official that Per Kristian Bråtveit will return to Norway as he has signed for Vålerenga. The goalkeeper is thus bought out of his agreement with Blåränderna, which lasted until the end of November 2022.

– PK goes to Vålerengen and we release him there prematurely, he has an expiring contract which means that we get a smaller amount for the transfer, says sports director Bosse Andersson to Dif’s website and continues:

– At present, we do not need another goalkeeper in terms of the goalkeeper set we have now, so we simply go our separate ways. PK should have a big thank you for his time and his fine performances in Djurgården and we wish him great luck in the future in Vålerengen.

Vålerenga’s sports director Joacim Jönsson on the Oslo Club’s new acquisition:

– In Per Kristian we get a top three goalkeeper in the Eliteserien. He is a player with a lot of experience despite his relatively young age, and he comes from a great season in French Nimes.

Bråtveit’s contract with Vålerenga extends until the end of 2022.
