AC Milan back to getting new players from the transfer market. This time the young Italian striker, Pietro Pellegri, borrowed from AS Monaco.
Pietro Pellegri is on loan at AC Milan for a season with a permanent option. However, the option becomes an obligation to make the transfer permanent if a number of clauses are met.
Only 20 years old, Pellegri migrated to Monaco after being redeemed from Genoa for 20.9 million euros in January 2018. He has not featured much for Monaco, only 23 times since joining and scoring 2 goals plus one assist in 397 minutes played.
The stagnation of Pellegri’s development cannot be separated from the series of injuries that plagued him. Transfermarkt noted that there were at least 14 different injuries or physical problems that hit the Genoa academy graduate.
Pietro Pellegri had captured the attention when he became the youngest player to score a pair of goals in Serie A at the age of 16 years 184 days. He made his Serie A debut at the age of 15.
“AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Pietro Pellegri from AS Monaco on loan, with the option to make this agreement permanent, which is mandatory if certain conditions are met,” an official statement said. AC Milan.
“The player will wear the number 64 shirt.”
