In the city of Groningen, an officer was seriously injured in a stabbing incident. He was hit in the face and rushed to a hospital.
The officer approached two boys on a bicycle around 10 p.m. in connection with the curfew. The officer was almost immediately attacked and stabbed in the face, says a police spokesman.
Then the pair fled on foot. Another agent was there. She was not injured and provided first aid. There is no trace of the perpetrators. Their description is brief, but Burgernet was used for the investigation, the spokesperson said.
“It concerns two white young men in dark clothing. They were on their bikes, but walked away. We are very busy with the search.” The incident was on the Van Houtenlaan in Groningen, where forensic investigations are being conducted.
