Police arrived on the scene because of a fire report. A police officer who kept an eye on things had to deal with an aggressive bystander, says a spokesman. “He hit him in the face.”
‘Impressed’
The bystander was arrested and the officer was taken to hospital. “It was serious, he was really abused. It did impress colleagues. Of course, violence against aid workers is never good.”

The police also arrested someone suspected of arson. The spokesperson does not know what the damage to the house is. However, a number of residents were taken to hospital for a check-up because smoke had been inhaled.
The police are still investigating the fire in the house.
