It was a heavy night for the police in Vlaardingen, which ended for one officer with a minor concussion and a check-up in the hospital. At around 2:00 AM, the police were sent to a brawl involving about 20 people. There it turned out to be quite a challenge to get things calm again.

Some of the people turned against the police, forcing additional officers to be called. A 19-year-old boy was arrested, but he disagreed. He slapped the officer twice and bit the arm.

A 51-year-old man from Vlaardingen has also been arrested for insulting the police. Both were sent home today. The 51-year-old man has to pay a fine, the 19-year-old perpetrator of violence will soon have to appear in court.
