Officer arrested in New York City for neck clamp Abroad

The arrestee lost consciousness when the officer put his arms around the man’s neck. The incident was filmed by bystanders. The 39-year-old officer turned himself in. He is suspended and faces a prison sentence of up to 7 years.

The state took action earlier this month after popular rage broke out over George Floyd’s death in New York and the rest of the US. He was killed in Minneapolis after a cop sat with his knee on his neck for nearly 9 minutes.

Fuss

The New York police already banned the neck clamp in 1993, but the drug was turned a blind eye and no reprimands were given for its use. In 2014 there was already a huge commotion. Then the black American Eric Garner died in New York shortly after he had been grounded hard on arrest.

Police officer Daniel Panteleo held him in a stranglehold against the rules. He did not stop although the suspect still stated that he was not getting any air. Garner lost consciousness and died on the way to the hospital.
