Office on iPad is updated with Split Vew for Excel and full support for trackpads in Word

Microsoft launched today a Office update in its iPad version. With it, Excel receives the long-awaited Split View support that Word and PowerPoint had for a long time. Opening two spreadsheets and working with them on an iPad is no longer going to be a problem.

Powerpoint also wins a new presenter tool able to manage public comments, the pace of the presentation that we are presenting or the filler words that it can detect. For its part, Word gains full support for using Trackpad on iPadOS three months after starting to test it. These are functions that give Office more capabilities on the iPad, getting closer and closer to the full experience of its computer equivalents.

It must be recognized that Microsoft, slowly but not without pause, has been updating and taking care of its office suite for Apple users despite being one of its direct competitors. Office has also been one of the first application suites to run natively on M1-chip Macs, showing that its developers have been attentive during the transition and have wanted to show Office performance from the first day of the change.

You can download these updates for free from the App Store (Word, Excel and Powerpoint separately), but remember: if you are not subscribed to a Microsoft 365 plan (from 69.99 euros per year) you can only open documents without being able to edit or create them from scratch.
