The head office of the Belgian media company DPG in Antwerp has been vacated. According to the police, unknowns have threatened to attack the building, which is located near Antwerp’s central station. All employees have been brought to safety, DPG reports.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, a command would want to carry out an attack on the office complex. The police tell the newspaper that they do not want to take any risks and that is why it has been scaled up considerably. There are heavily armed officers around the building.
DPG Media is the parent company of, among others, Het Laatste Nieuws, the largest newspaper in Flanders, and the commercial TV channel VTM. It is also the largest media company in the Netherlands as a publisher of AD, De Volkskrant and Trouw, among others. DPG also manages radio station Q-Music and news site NU.nl.
