The Office des Changes received 59% of authorization requests via the SMART platform during the year 2023.
“In 2023, 59% of authorization requests were received via SMART, or 8,037 requests, compared to 53% in 2022, representing 6,680 requests,” the Office indicates in its management report for 2023, noting that the other filings concern those on site at the registry office in Rabat or Casablanca, or by mail received by post.
Thus, 1,292 requests for information and complaints received online were processed, compared to 1,006 in 2022, marking an increase of 28.5%, adds the report, specifying that among these requests, 844 were made via the requests area of the Internet portal of the Office des Changes in 2023.
The Office also processed 14 requests made under Law No. 31-13 relating to the right of access to information, via the chafafiya.ma platform, compared to 10 requests processed in 2022.
“This positive trend highlights that the digital transition has considerably optimized the management of administrative mail, thus confirming the success of digitalization,” believes the same source.
In addition, the number of Ex-MRE electronic declarations filed online in 2023 reached 20 out of a total of 49, compared to 23 out of a total of 44 in 2022. The number of declarations made via the statistical survey platform reached 4,182, compared to 3,446 in 2022.
Launched in 2020, the SMART platform dematerializes the formalities and procedures relating to the submission of authorization requests to the Office des Changes and allows economic operators to declare their foreign exchange transactions online.
