The reconstruction is already taking place continuously throughout Ukraine. Housing is being repaired and rebuilt, health care is being restored, bridges, energy supplies and other infrastructure are being rebuilt and the affected areas are being made habitable again. At the same time, reconstruction plans are being drawn up and projects are being developed so that large-scale implementation can begin quickly once the war ends.
The Ukrainian government’s reconstruction plan is based on a profound modernization according to the principle of “Build Back Better”The implementation of comprehensive reforms is a fundamental prerequisite for the success of this transformation and the continued support of international financial institutions. International donors and financial institutions are showing strong activity and developing projects to immediately initiate short- and long-term reconstruction after the end of hostilities. At the same time, the private sector and foreign direct investment are essential pillars of reconstruction.
Supporting Austrian companies in protecting their rights and legitimate interests abroad has always been a task of Austrian diplomacy. The support provided by the Business service as a central contact point in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always takes place in close cooperation with the respective local representative authority and in addition to the foreign trade activities already undertaken by the WKÖ.
