Thanks to the call Advanced Training 2022-1: specializations and master’s degrees for teachers and teaching directors of official educational establishments, educators in the public sector will be able to carry out specializations and master’s degrees in different universities in the country, in face-to-face or virtual mode.
The initiative, led by Icetex and the Ministry of National Education, finances 70% of the registration fee for each academic semester. For ethnic educators, funding is 85%. In either case, the remaining percentage must be assumed by the beneficiary of the forgivable credit.
Among the requirements that those interested must meet are: being a teacher or teaching director, having a property appointment, being linked to an official college, having approved the credit study and being admitted to one of the postgraduate programs that are part of the call, which can be consulted by clicking here.
Another requirement is that those who aspire to pursue a master’s degree do not have a master’s or doctor’s degree. Nor should they be beneficiaries of other financing programs of the National Government to pursue postgraduate studies. For Professor José Darwin Lenis Mejía, Secretary of Education of Cali, a postgraduate program “strengthens the professional development of teachers, principals and coordinators, strengthens their pedagogical practices and contributes to improving the quality of education in the city.”
Ana Lucía Rosero Prado, director of the Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of San Buenaventura, expressed that this “is a great opportunity to transcend in the educational field and to build and innovate with new educational bets in Cali and the Valle of Cauca”.
Postgraduate courses in Cali

The Autonomous University of the West offers specialization in Educational Innovation and Technologies; the Icesi University, the master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (virtual); and the Universidad del Valle, the master’s degree in Education.
