Jhon Duran is apparently on FC Red Bull Salzburg’s wish list.
As reported by the Portuguese sports newspaper “Record”, the Austrian series champions have already made an offer for the 19-year-old Chicago Fire striker.
However, the ‘bulls’ are not alone in their interests, Benfica in particular are said to be fiercely courting Duran. But Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are also said to be on the way.
Contract until the end of 2024
The Medellin man signed a preliminary contract with the MLS club in January 2021 and at just 17 he became the youngest international player to sign a contract in MLS.
It wasn’t until last January that he finally moved to Chicago from his hometown club Envigado FC and worked his way into the starting XI over the course of the season. After 27 MLS games there have been eight goals and five assists. His strong performances also earned him three caps for the Colombian national team in September.
In October 2020, Duran were also considered by The Guardian in their list of 60 talents.
His contract in Chicago expires until the end of 2024, but in the light of the interested parties, he will hardly be able to respect it.
