Offensive comment to opposition MP; The New Zealand prime minister has apologized

Wellington: New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinta Ardern has apologized for speaking abusively to opposition MP.

The Prime Minister apologized after being heard calling Opposition leader David Seymour arrogant (arrogant) as he spoke in Parliament and the incident became controversial.

The PM’s defamatory comments came after opposition ACT leader David Seymour questioned Ardern in Parliament.

Seymour objected to the Prime Minister’s remarks and asked the Speaker of the House of Representatives to withdraw them from the record.

Later, Jacinta Arden’s office announced that it apologized for the remark.

The incident occurred on Tuesday during a debate in Parliament.

Seymour called on the prime minister to lead by example by “apologizing for the government going wrong on every matter”, and Ardern later openly acknowledged the mistakes made, including in his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In her response, Ardern said there were many occasions where her Labor government acknowledged that there had been gaps, including in the country’s response to Covid.

“For example, we openly acknowledged that isolation and quarantine were very difficult to manage at that time and that many people were affected by it.

“We have always made decisions that we believe are best for New Zealand,” Arden added.

But after giving this answer, the Prime Minister sitting in his chair slowly said “such an arrogant question” through the microphone.

But the prime minister’s office later confirmed that Ardern had apologized to Seymour for the remark.
