Offenburg “Wildflower” offered music to enjoy in Nordrach Ortenau News

The singing duo “Wildflower” entertained around 140 listeners in the Bürgerpark Nordrach.

“They do it so fantastically” – that was what was heard again and again last Friday evening from the more than 140 visitors who had gathered in the Bürgerpark to listen to the duo “Wildflower pure”. As part of the summer event series “Music in the Park”, the two semi-professional musicians had made their way to the idyllic Nordrachtal, where they were quickly making people look relaxed and happy.

It started with “Diamonds”. Anne Blum interpreted the pop ballad by R&B singer Rihanna with powerful lead vocals. Blum’s bright, clear and very emotional voice harmonized perfectly with Alexander Dörle’s velvety, slightly rough accompanying voice and his skillful guitar playing.

A song by Norwegian pop singer Maria Mena was followed by the deeply touching yet lighthearted “Lay your worry down” by singer-songwriter Milow. The evening continued just as expressively, with constantly changing roles in terms of singing, which alone provided variety.

“We will entertain you with a program lasting around three hours,” the duo announced, and received some cries of astonishment at the scope of the program. These were all the more justified as “Wildflowers pure” has only existed since May 2023, as Dörle revealed in a short introduction.

Both nurses

“Funnily enough, we both originally trained as nurses,” he explains when asked. The 55-year-old family man comes from Herbolzheim and has lived in Schutterwald for 30 years, where Anne Blum (49), who grew up here (born in Offenburg), also lives with her family. Both of them devote themselves to music in addition to their jobs and families. Dörle, for example, reports 40 to 50 performances per year, plus the preparations and usually two rehearsals per week.

Basically, the two artists, who have many years of experience, are active in various formations and styles. In Nordrach, they performed a unique acoustic program of pop and rock history from the last few decades. And with it they created a very special, somewhat enchanted summer evening mood, to which the atmosphere of the Bürgerpark contributed the rest.

“Music to enjoy” had been announced in advance, and rightly so – musical interpretations that were designed to gently resonate both internally and externally, with the occasional rock element. The duo “Wildflower pure” performed songs by country and folk singer John Denver, Alanis Morrisette, Natasha Bedingfield, Oasis and The Common Linnets (who took second place at the 2014 ESC with “Calm after the storm”). There were also classics by the Beatles and the Bee Gees. There were also Anne Blum’s own songs and a surprise appearance with power singer Rob Notes, who lives in Nordrach.
