The Offenburg University of Applied Sciences is part of the new cross-border network CinEuro. Together, the partners want to develop a strategic and competitive film location in the heart of Europe.
In addition, the cross-border cooperation initiative CinEuro, which is unique in Europe, brings together for the first time all structures responsible for promoting the film and audiovisual sector in Germany in the French department of Grand Est, in Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland. The CinEuro partners meet regularly to structure their cooperation and coordinate their activities. They concentrate on the following five subject areas: film funding, cross-border evaluation, filming and upgrading of specific resources, green shooting, new materials and innovative formats.

In connection with these topics, the project also implements numerous campaigns and events for filmmakers. For example, tri-national workshops on stereoscopy (3D cinema) in feature films, documentaries and animated films and on script-writing are planned in the AV studios of the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. With these measures, CinEuro wants to stimulate co-production between the partner regions and countries, strengthen the export of local small and medium-sized companies on international markets and bring filmmakers closer to the resources and skills available in the cross-border area.

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, which is hitting the film and audiovisual sectors very hard, CinEuro offers an opportunity for cooperation between partner countries to overcome this crisis together. Here, too, CinEuro strives to develop specific solutions and perspectives.

CinEuro is implemented as part of two INTERREG projects, which will be carried out between 2020 and 2022 in the Greater Region and the Upper Rhine, and funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union. The Offenburg University is a co-financing partner in the project. The project leader is Prof. Götz Gruner (dean of studies mgp, Faculty of Media). Fabian Linder (Faculty of Media) is involved in the project.

You can find the latest information on the project and upcoming events at cineuro.de and on the CinEuro Facebook page.
