Digital media penetrate our society more and more and continuously influence the way we live. More and more people are starting to transfer questions about the right to privacy and data protection to digital life as well. This includes the question: what will happen to my digital heritage?

The media educator Marco Schwind will go into the various facets of the digital estate and give helpful tips on how to deal with your estate.

The key words here are: the legal positions of a deceased internet user, in particular their contractual relationships with social networks, e-mail providers and virtual accounts.

In addition, there are new developments in the area of fitness bracelets, for example, or the possibility of digitally controlling devices (e.g. heating or light) while on the move.

All data transmitted and stored in this context remain with the respective provider even after the death of a customer. It is therefore advisable for everyone to have an overview of data and to organize it today as a precaution.

The lecture will take place on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 6.30 p.m. as an online lecture.

In order to participate, it is mandatory to register in advance at the senior citizen’s office, phone 0781 82-2222 or by email to [email protected] stating your own email address. The registration deadline is Monday, April 12, 2021. After the registration deadline, the access link and further information about the event will be sent by email.
