The Offenbach CDU holds the traffic light up to wanting to save on public transport, although there are significant surpluses. Don’t present numbers to cover it up

Offenbach ⋅ The Offenbach CDU has expressed its incomprehension that the coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP is planning massive savings in public transport, although the State Statistical Office is currently showing a financing surplus of the city of 50.3 million euros for 2021. The traffic light constantly emphasizes that it is subject to austerity measures, but with the above-mentioned financing surplus in Hesse, the city is in fourth place behind Marburg, Neu-Isenburg and Kassel of all Hessian municipalities and even just ahead of the “trade tax Croesus” Eschborn.
In contrast, Darmstadt with a minus of 95 million, Frankfurt with minus 30 million and Wiesbaden with a deficit of 52 million would have to close the books for 2021. The clear surplus in Offenbach is also not an “outlier”, but the result of a solid financial policy of the previous coalition of CDU, Greens, FDP and Free Voters and the then CDU treasurer Peter Freier, said the Offenbach CDU leader Andreas Bruszynski and the CDU Group leader Roland Walter in a joint statement.
