Offenbach tightens corona rules – FFH.de

In Offenbach, from tomorrow (Sunday, December 19), people who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered will also have to present a negative corona test in the cinema, in the hotel as well as in restaurants and fitness studios. Excluded from 2G plus are people who have already received a booster vaccination, as the city announced.

The tightened hotspot rules come into effect because the seven-day incidence in the city is above the 350 mark for the third day in a row today. This is shown by the current infection figures from the Robert Koch Institute.

It is mandatory to wear a mask in the pedestrian zone

The same applies to other cultural, sports and leisure events with more than ten people indoors. “It can currently be assumed that the incidence in Offenbach will be above the threshold of 350 in the next few days,” the city said. In addition, from Sunday there will again be a mask requirement in the pedestrian zone and a ban on alcohol in certain places. Dance halls, clubs and discos as well as prostitution places have to close.

Stricter rules for hotspots

The country had accordingly tightened corona rules for hotspots, in which the incidence (number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days) is over 350 on three consecutive days. The incidence in Offenbach on Thursday was 380.5; Offenbach is the only municipality in Hesse that is above 350. The regulations expire as soon as the incidence value is below this limit again for five consecutive days.

  • Mask requirement in the city center: The administrative staff initially defined this area for the pedestrian zone. The mask requirement applies daily, including on weekends, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Alcohol prohibition zones in popular places: The consumption of alcohol is prohibited in Martin Luther Park and in the pedestrian zone. The Christmas market at Aliceplatz and Stadthof is excluded.
  • Fireworks ban on New Year’s Eve: The prohibition on lighting fireworks applies in the following areas: Hafenplatz and harbor stairs, city center, the shopping streets in Bieber (Aschaffenburger and Seligenstädter Straße) and Bürgel (Langstraße and Offenbacher Straße) as well as Goetheplatz, Mathildenplatz, the Main area, Europaplatz, Ostendplatz , the Reichstag and the Dalles in Bürgel.
  • 2G or 2G-Plus for events, sports and leisure, gastronomy and tourist overnight stays: For events with more than 10 people as well as in the cultural, sports and leisure area (sports field, fitness studio, cinema, theater) and in restaurants as well as for tourist overnight stays, the 2G-Plus regulation applies indoors and the 2G regulation outdoors . From 3,000 participants, the 2G-Plus rule also applies to outdoor events. The mask requirement remains.
  • Limit for private gatherings: At private gatherings and celebrations, the number of people is limited to 50 indoors and 200 outdoors.
  • Dance halls, clubs, discos, prostitution places close: If the incidence exceeds 350, dance halls, clubs and discos as well as prostitution places have to close.

In addition, the general corona rules of the Hessian state government apply:

  • Relief for people with booster vaccination: Wherever the 2G-Plus rule applies according to the Coronavirus Protection Ordinance, vaccinated persons and genesis must also present a current negative corona test. This test specification does not apply to people who have already received a (third) booster vaccination.
  • Contact restrictions when meeting with unvaccinated people: There are additional contact restrictions for public meetings in which at least one unvaccinated or unconcealed person is present: Only one’s own household and a maximum of two people from another household are permitted. The previous exceptions for people under the age of 18 remain.
  • Outdoor events: For large events with more than 3,000 participants, a mask must be worn in the future – even if distances can be maintained. Indoor: For larger indoor events, the capacity is limited to 25 percent from the 251st place. This means that the first 250 places can be used to the full. In all other places, only every fourth place may be occupied.
  • Extension of the 3G rule: In future, 3G will also apply to visitors in the inpatient youth welfare facilities. In child day care, the 3G rule applies to (self-employed) staff.
