Offenbach: Three people rescued from the weir pillar of the lock

The water police have to rescue three people from the weir pillar of the lock in Offenbach. The group now expect criminal consequences.

Offenbach – Three people who climbed the weir pillar of the lock in Offenbach and could not come down from there were rescued on Saturday evening (June 12th, 2021).

The water police received a message at 6:20 p.m. that three people were standing on the weir pillar of the Offenbach lock and needed help. The DLRG and the fire brigade were also informed and went to the site.

Water police rescues group from the weir pillar of the lock in Offenbach

The two patrol crews of the Frankfurt water police were able to rescue the three people unscathed on the water side of the foundation or in the underwater at 6:35 p.m. with a light patrol boat. Immediately afterwards, the group was dropped off on the premises of the Offenbach lock.

The three people had previously climbed the pillar from the weir footbridge down to the foundation and could not get away from there without outside help. All three people are now awaiting a report because they have stepped on the weir pillar. (acg)
