Public participation possible until 4 November
Citizen participation in the redesign of the Friedrichsweiher park started successfully with actions in the park. From Friday 23 September the district around the Friedrichsweiher park has been tackled and can participate with suggestions for the restyling of the park until Friday 4 November.
The pond and the green areas are showing their age and are in need of renovation. There is already a refurbishment concept for redesign showing the basic refurbishment objectives for the sub-areas. The three subzones include the north area with a playground, the renovation of the pond and the south park area with some old trees. For the concrete planning of these areas, the city of Offenbach takes into account the suggestions and wishes of the users.
Reach as many people as possible
“It is important for us to reach as many people as possible and collect ideas as we do it, but also to address any problems,” says Paul-Gerhard Weiß, head of the planning department, confident that the concept of participation will work. Opinions are required both online and on site. During online participation, citizens can submit wishes and suggestions until November 4, 2022. Anyone can participate at the following address upon registration:
The Friedrichsweiher green area is undergoing renovations
The on-site kick-off was Friday 23 September, in the afternoon from 16:00 to 19:00 with a kick-off event. Employees of the Planning and Construction Bureau and district management were available as contact persons and questioned those present and the invited neighborhood via flyers. The four pavilions could already be seen from afar, in which the three thematic areas and the general design were illustrated and ideas were inserted. More than 50 citizens took the opportunity and the prepared notice boards and posters filled with suggestions from children, young people and adults. The employees of the district management also walked through the park and collected suggestions from passers-by.
On Saturday 15 October, at the “Mitmachcafé” in Offenbach, local families were addressed directly. With a coffee and a cake, the future development and design were discussed in a pleasant atmosphere and further ideas were gathered. This day served as a start for extensive interviews on the outskirts of the neighborhood and in the park.
First results on November 7th
The first results will be presented and discussed in a seminar on Monday 7 November, from 5 pm in the “artefakt” shop directly in front of the park, at Starkenburgring 4. The Council of Elders and the Parliament of Children and Youth are also involved in this. . The goal is to discuss the requirements of these two groups together and bring them together to form a coherent concept.
At the end of the participation process, the results will be presented on Friday 11 November starting at 5 pm in the Rolandpassage, not far from the Friedrichsweiher. At this meeting, the planning office in charge of Wiesbaden will also discuss with the visitors the possibilities for renewal of the park. “We will participate with a lot of manpower and we look forward to everyone participating,” says district manager Marcus Schenk, full of expectations. Questions about participation can be sent by e-mail to schenkqrande or by telephone at 0177/5212345.
