ORffenbach ⋅ Offenbach wants to help sports and migrant clubs, local commerce, culture and gastronomy with an economic stimulus package worth one million euros to deal with the consequences of inflation, in particular the explosion in energy prices. The social counseling services of Caritas and Diakonie will also be supported next year.
In light of the billions in aid currently mentioned in the federal government, the million euros Offenbach now wants to raise seems modest. For the still poor city, this is a considerable sum, which according to treasurer Martin Wilhelm (spd) is only available because not all the money actually planned for the Mainarbeit job center in Offenbach is needed. Specifically, according to Wilhelm, the situation on the labor market in Offenbach has developed better than expected. This means that the financial burden on the city from housing costs for the beneficiaries is also lower than originally assumed.
